Installation of Carpet

Installation of Carpet

Furniture & Appliances:
All furniture and appliances must be completely removed from the areas to be covered prior to the arrival of the installation crew. Due to time restraints, the installers will not be able to wait to have furniture moved during the installation process. Should your job not be ready when they arrive, a trip charge will be added to the cost of your installation as we will have to schedule a second trip and installation time.
If you have paid for furniture moving, you will still be responsible for moving all breakables, electronics, computers, and small items such as books, shoes, and paper. You will also need to strip beds, clear closets, unhook all gas appliances, and remove wall hangings. Floors For You cannot move water beds, pool tables, antiques, grandfather clocks, and big screen televisions.

Carpet Take Up:
All carpet, pad, and staples must be completely removed from the areas to be installed prior to the arrival of the installation crew. Tack strips do not have to be removed from the room. If your carpet has been glued down, you will be required to remove the carpet and glue and scrape the floor clean. If you have paid for carpet removal, these services will be provided by our installers. If your carpet has been pet damaged, we will not be able to dispose of it.

After the Installation:
The customer is responsible for the initial vacuuming and cutting any doors. If you have changed the height of your floor, you may have to cut your doors in order to have them swing freely.
Please note that the following conditions may arise after the installation.
Roll Marks: There may be some shading or lines across the width of the carpet. These impressions are the result of the carpeting resting on itself in roll stage.
Shedding: Your new carpet may shed small amounts of fiber for up to six months. Don’t be alarmed if your vacuum fills up quickly, this is normal.
Seams: Your seams will be installed to industry standards. Seams are not invisible. Some seams show more than others.
Walls & Trim: Our installers will be very careful to avoid scuffing your walls and trim during installation. Some scuffing may be unavoidable. Touch up is required by the homeowner. We cannot be responsible as this is common during installation.
You can relax and enjoy your floor knowing you have a one year labor warranty on your installation.
